L is for . . . Lisa?

No, not really, but that is my name.  Elizabeth at Creative Breathing asked a few of us to help her put together a H-a-l-l-o-w-e-e-n banner, each of us taking a different letter.  I picked "L", because it just seemed like that's always been my letter, so why not?  She also asked us to share how we put our block together, nothing fancy here, just lots of cutting and glueing.

First I found that cute little girl image here (she has more to share too!).  The pumpkin came from flickr, I think, but I'm not sure, sorry!  I used my trusty Creative Memories shape cutter, love those things!  There's not much else they have that interests me too much anymore, but if my little blades ever wear out, I would definitely replace them.  I cut just a partial oval, first out of black cardstock, then a little bit smaller out of that pretty orange paper.  The spider web paper on the bottom I just cut to fit, I decided those webs were a little too white, so I used distress ink all over it.  I think it goes much better with the orange paper now.

I used gold stickles on the girls dress, shoes, hat, hair, and on the pumpkin.  I can't remember whose blog I read the tip about using a paintbrush with stickles, but it's a good one, so I'm passing it on.

I made the little rosettes with a 1 inch circle punch, and used a hot glue gun to glue them to the curly gingham ribbon.  The hardest part for me was figuring out how to get the silly "L" on there somewhere.  It started out big on the left, then not so big right in the middle, finally a rather small "L" stuck on that rosette.  I guess it works. :)
Then it was glue, glue, glue!
I used  cereal box cardboard in the middle between the cardstock so it would be nice and sturdy.

All ten ready to go!
And the back, just punches and stamps.  When I was ordering crafty Bible School stuff this summer, Oriental Trading Company had these Halloween stamps on clearance, and they came with a punch.  Just had to sneak them in my order!
Mine will go out in the mail tomorrow, and I can't wait till I get all the other letters to spell out Halloween!

Wow, love your "L." That little girl is so cute. The whole thing is adorable. I might have to use your "L" as inspiration (copy)for my tag along banner. ;) I still only made my H so far. Thanks for explaining all your steps. That helps me to no end.
Have a wonderful rest of the week.

Lisa...Thanks so VERY much for stopping by my" Buttons for Baga” and leaving me the info on my missing cards. I have been looking but never thought to look on Etsy or to do a Google search. I am a very happy camper tonight thanks to you. I love your L for Lisa...you and Elizabeth are so very talented. She gave me one of her banners which is hanging in my classroom. As soon as I send off my 25 match boxes for A Swap for All Seasons, I am going to make myself my first paper banner.

Hugs,
Genie

PS....You now have another follower. I love your blog!
