A Little Red

I thought since I claimed in my last post that red was my favorite kitchen color, I'd share a few of my finds from this summer.

Up first is a pretty old juice decanter found at Goodwill early this summer, on top of a garage sale towel.  I've been using this towel a lot, love those flowers!
State glasses (just the reds!).  Anyone else collect these?  I try to just get the states I've been to, and I inherited a lot of my aunt's, so fun!  I should do a whole post on state souvenir stuff, I love it!  Most of these were bought for about 10 cents.

More old crocheted pot holders (can't get enough, lol).  They're sitting (like the glasses above) on a tray found at the Salvation Army thrift store this summer.  Not old, but it's come in very handy all summer.

A litttle vintage nut chopper, I've always wanted one of these, and this one couldn't be more perfect in red. :)  Two more vintage towels, pretty!

A BIG tomato bowl.  I saw this at the SA a few weeks ago, thought it was pretty, but where would I keep another big bowl?  When I went back last week, it had been moved to the 25 cent shelf, so it had to come home with me.  It's being put to good use right now, the tomatoes are exploding in the garden!  Anyone know anything about this bowl, old? new?  There are no makings on it.

Wonderful old silverware, bakelite?  And yes, if you think something is missing, it is.  No forks!  Didn't realize that till I got home.  Goodwill had them sealed up in a bag.  They were only $1.76 though, maybe I'll find the forks someday. ;)
Gorgeous tablecloth, garage sale find from early this summer, pretty!

So, do you think the red and pink can mix??

Oh, I'm in heaven! What a wonderful collection of kitchen reds. I've never seen those state glasses before. How charming, and yes I'd love to see you do a post on state souvenirs. I have a couple of pretty spoon rests from Florida, which were my Grandmother's. I must post them on my blog someday. Unfortunately, they are not red...but pretty nonetheless. Your nut chopper is darling, and what can I say about the red knives and forks...perfect!
I want to go thrifting with you. :)

Oh these are all wonderful red vintage items. My favorite is the nut grinder I have one myself but not red, no color really.

Can I join you and Maureen and go thrifting with you? I love all of your finds, and they're exactly the things that I would have bought too. Oh. Maybe we shouldn't shop together then!
Happy Weekend!
