Button Tags and I NEED SOME SUNSHINE!

This weeks button tag (image from Creative Breathing). Milo wouldn't give up about the only light place in our house right now.

I thought I'd show you where I keep my tags, but it's very hard to take a picture of this dark little corner. That little teapot was a find a few weekends ago, no lid, but I loved the colors. My daughter crocheted the little scottie on top of the cupboard, she knows what I like. :) And I made that fabric covered board on the wall last winter, what do you call them?

Another spot where I keep a few pretties, I've discovered that thimbles are the perfect vacation souvenir, don't cost much, and don't take up much room.

It's summer, seems like I should be showing outdoor pictures, but it never stops raining anymore, blah! Even Nick (I don't think he's made an appearance here) the pony is tired of slugging through the mud of his drylot to get to the pasture. He would not come out for a picture. And the garden is one big weedy mudbog, no way I'm stepping out in there to pull weeds. We've had five inches of rain in the last few days, and it's raining more right now. It's summer, I NEED TO SEE THE SUN!

Edited: Bookwormbethie asked if I'd show a couple pics of my favorite thimbles, well sure! I love these cloisonne ones, they don't remind me of a special place I visited, but I think they're so pretty! And yes, that's Elvis on a thimble ;), my daughter brought me that one from a trip to Memphis.

And this tiny, tiny (it's not a token out of a Monopoly game!) one was my aunt's. I found it in some of my aunt's things after she died. She was the expert sewer in our family, and always answered my silly questions. The day we were going through her things, I found this penny the little thimble is sitting on in her driveway, dated the year I was born. Anybody read Ann Landers? All that pennies from heaven stuff? I'm way too practical a person to believe in all that, but there was no way I was going to throw that penny away. :)

Love your button tag! It's just perfect! And all your sweet vintage things are wonderful! Love your crocheted scotty dog--I love scotties, too!

Hope your day is wonderful--sorry about all the rain! If it makes you feel any better, it's super gloomy here in my part of California today...NO sun!

Oh my gosh, we are drowning here in Ohio! It has rained every single day my husband has been gone these last ten days. The grass is ready to be cut and bailed it's so tall! I so enjoyed seeing a peek of your tag corner. What a cute teapot. I just love the shelf and tags hanging. Thank goodness for you because I post the next tag and then forget to make it myself until I see your tag. It is so cute! You have such a touch! I can't wait to share it next Monday. Have a great week! Think of all the weeding waiting for you! Elizabeth

Memory board :).

Bummer about all the rain. We're scorching here.

I love all the pictures of some of your favorite things.

Your little corner is very cute!

As for the thimble shelf ... see the sewing machine on the bottom left? That's what my real machine looks like. Yes, I have a featherweight Singer in almost pristine condition and I heart it. :)

I'm tired of the rain too. There is no way to get out of our town on the west side as it has been flooded for about a week now. It's crazy how much rain we've gotten. It reminds me of 1993. I really hope we don't have another 1993.

Also, not that I want to win this competition, but I'm pretty sure my garden is weedier than yours. And I'm not weeding it for the same reasons you aren't! lol. The sun is out today so hopefully you'll get the sunshine later today. (Weather moves east, right?)

Glenda, yes! memory board! I knew they had a name! Your's that you made from the old kitchen cabinet door is what gave me the idea. :)

Aww, Beth, thanks for being interested, just added a couple pictures. :)

Marybt, how cool that you have, and it works so well, one of those old machines! I have one too, but I just use the cabinet to set my newer machine on. I've never even tried it!

The sun is FINALLY shining today, my garden awaits!
